Protocol Review Meeting Coordination
The meeting coordination team in Clinical Research Support (CRS) manages a range of meetings that support clinical research studies and initiatives. The focus is to arrange, conduct, and record meetings with a particular focus on the Protocol Review & Monitoring System mandated by the Center’s status as a Comprehensive Cancer Center.
Clinical Investigators Meeting (CIM)
Peer-review, open-forum meeting for studies involving transplant patients. Meeting is held every two weeks. (Additional meetings are added when volume requires it.)
Clinical Research Support provides administrative support for local Cancer Consortium Data and Safety Monitoring Boards (as noted in the Institutional Data and Safety Monitoring Plan) and is contacted when upcoming DSMBs are initiated or scheduled.
External Performance Site Assessment Committee (EPSAC)
The External Performance Site Assessment Committee (EPSAC) exists to aid Cancer Consortium Principal Investigators and/or Cancer Consortium IND/IDE sponsors in assuring compliance with CFR 21 Part 312.50 by assessing external performance site(s) for adequacy to perform study requirements and the Cancer Consortium PI's plan as a coordinating center investigator.
Protocol Data Monitoring Committee (PDMC)
Another component of the Protocol Review & Monitoring System that reviews studies at renewal.
Research Group Review
Over the past year, Dr. Paul Martin has worked with Consortium leadership to formalize the process of prioritizing clinical trials within Research Groups. As of December 1, a preliminary evaluation by the appropriate Research Group will be required prior to SRC review. All new clinical trials subject to SRC review should be formally evaluated during a regularly convened meeting of the Research Group.
